Raising the Kids to Be Bank Robbers

The end is near! Or maybe the beginning. I’m not sure. All I know is that the news on Friday seemed to signal the end of American life as we’ve known it for, oh, my entire life and then some.

First, there was the report of “the latest bank robber,” this one wearing a Darth Vader mask. In previous weeks, there have been reports of a bank robber who hides his face with a bouquet of flowers, and an elderly gentleman in a checkered jacket with liver spots on his hands, lugging an oxygen tank while holding up a bank in San Diego. Let’s Not Take Our Children to Work Day

Stressed man and laptopMy kids are not in my office, staring at me while I type. I know that it’s Take Your Children to Work Day, but as the offspring of a work-at-home blogger-writer-author-spokesperson, my kids see me work all too often, whether it’s Mom answering an e-mail from an editor while we’re in the cereal aisle at the supermarket, or all of us being followed to the school bus stop by The Today Show.
