Maybe you're all voted out after the presidential election, but I hope not. See, this one's important to me. I had to retake my headshot, even though I was perfectly happy with my old one, the one on the right. Cute, right? I mean, I looked like EveryMom, lying on the floor because it's easier to pick up the Legos that way, and barefoot because somebody put something sticky in my shoes.

Except I don't look like that anymore, not since my hair fell out during chemotherapy. Well, actually, we shaved it off, first putting it into a Mohawk, because that's the kind of people we are.

When my hair started to grow back, it looked like it was going to be the way it always was: straight and light brown with blonde highlights, some of them natural. This shot from February looks like the old me, if the old me had just gotten back from serving in Kabul.

Then in July, my hair went curly and dark brown, sort of like Nick Jonas from the Jonas Brothers, only not as long. So, I retook my headshot, so that people who came to my book signings wouldn't wonder who the curly-haired lady was.

But I've never been thrilled with it. It just doesn't feel like me, even now that I've gotten used to my new hair. It doesn't have the same feel as my lying-on-the-floor headshot from a few years ago. And now, my hair is a bit longer and, as my cousin-in-law put it, "It's rock-and-roll hair."

I mean, check out how awesome it looked when CBS filmed here a few weeks ago:

So, anyhow. I'm thinking I might want to reshoot it before my new books come out next year. But I'd like your opinion. Please tell me how you think my hair looks in my latest headshot, and I'll take it all into consideration as my hair continues to grow.
Should Jen get a new photo? This one looks like...
...Jen wants to sell me a nice split-level with a new bathroom.
...Jen will be in charge of refreshments at the PTA meeting.
...Jen is probably putting the 2nd grade report cards in envelopes right now.
...Jen wants to help me find a car loan.
...Jen knows that the juice boxes have been moved to Aisle 5.
...What? Jen looks fine. You know, like the author and mom she is.

Thanks for your vote!

Looks like I'm having a blast in my office,
perhaps amusing myself with something I've written, but
forgot about, because I have a short-term memory.

I couldn't get my legs out of this position,
so we took the photo while we awaited medical attention.

This is how I bathe.
